Dr Arora has been a leader in the pharma research sciences during the course of his 40 years involvement in drug discovery and new formulation development. He has applied his knowledge and expertise in this very specialised field in leading international and India-based multinational companies into creating opportunities for commercially viable and sustainable businesses. He held several senior leadership responsibilities in being the Global Head of Chemical Research at Sandoz (a Novartis company, based in Vienna), President – R&D at Ranbaxy and Lupin. He also held senior positions in Biogen (Chembridge, MA, USA), Greenwich Pharmaceutical (Pennsylvania, USA), Medicarb (Pennsylvania, USA). Dr Arora holds more than 50 patents in his individual capacity and a further 50 patents through the organisations he worked for.

Dr Arora’s areas of expertise, in short, can be outlined as below:

• New Chemical Entity Research for development and establishment of new drugs.
• Development of new delivery systems for existing generic drugs.
• Leading team of scientists and managers to effectively develop and scale up the production of generic drugs for the developed and developing global markets.
• Managing the target identification to IND and NDA filing, Animal and Human PK.
• Driving chemical research generic drug development, analytical, formulation development, bio-equivalency, clinical development, ANDA filings.
• Managing intellectual property issues and obtaining approval of IND, ANDA and product approvals in India, USA, Europe and in various other markets.

Academics: Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry; D.Sc. in Toxicology and Animal Pharmacokinetics.
